A whole week trekking, 82 km of pure fun, a unique experience discovering the wildest side of Salento. The tour will get into the Costa d’Otranto Regional Natural Park, and it will get to Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase.
Five stops, all characterized by the constant presence of the sea, the typical cuisine of Salento and the traditional countryside restaurants. Set off for an unforgettable trekking and live Salento in a completely new way!
Landing in Brindisi. Transfer to Lecce and guided city tour. Transfer to Otranto to settle in the b&b. Briefing with the tour guides before enjoying a seafood dinner. Evening walking around Otranto.
Guided tour in Otranto and trasnfer to the bauxite mines. If the weather is nice, it will be possible to take a swim in the lake by the mines. Transfer to Torre Sant’Emiliano and Porto Badisco. Before getting to the farmhouse, pay a visit to a local cheese factory. Dinner with local food and wines from Puglia.
Head to Santa Cesarea Terme, Torre Minervino, and Torre Specchia la Guardia. If you decide to stop in Cesarea Terme in front of Villa Sticchi, right before getting to Porto Miggiano and its wonderful bay, you will have a chance to go for a swim. From there you will get to Grotta Zinzulusa and Castro with its castle. After reaching the b&b, enjoy an aperitivo on the port of Castro before dinner.
Some km away from Castro is Seno dell’Acquaviva, that opens up into a beautiful bay. From there, you will walk to Torre Capo Lupo and Torre del Sasso, with its sunny countryside that will lead you to the small harbor of Porto Tricase. Up and down the hills again, you will reach Canal del Rio Tricase and Marina Serra. After a little break in the beautiful sea of Torre Palane, head to Tiggiano through the path in the woods of Tricase. A quick visit to Palazzo Baronale and Sant’Ippazio church. Typical dinner in trattoria.
Get ready for a busy day by the coastline. Arrival in Torre Nasparo and the start of the trek through the Salt Paths, “Scalamascu e Funnuvojere” reefs, and “Nsepe” woods continuing along the strait that leads to Torre Specchia Grande. The road goas down the coastline to Marina di Guardiola and Canal del Rio Guardiola and goes nack uphill to Marina di Novaglie. Following the Cipolliane path, you will visit its caves and, after a while, you will get to Ciolo for a swim. The canyons will take you to the Mannuta cave. Dinner in typical local restaurant.
After 75 km trekking, take the day off. The possibilities are nearly endless: if you’re tired, you can relax on one of the beautiful beaches to sunbathe; if you’re the sporty type, there are plenty of options to discover the territory; and if you’re the smart type, you will find plenty of historical sites to learn from. Or you could just sail off on a boat tour and explore the many sea caves! Barbecue dinner or in a typical local restaurant.
The narrow path that starts from Mannuta cave will lead you to Santa Maria di Leuca, and follows the cliffs overlooking the sea caves. You will arrive at Leuca’s lighthouse and its Sanctuary; from there, you will go down the monumental staircase and you will reach Leuca. Stop to have a drink and get back on track to get to the b&b. Dinner in the countryside.
Breakfast and return to Brindisi.
