Day 2From Otranto to Porto Badisco

Guided tour in Otranto and trasnfer to the bauxite mines. If the weather is nice, it will be possible to take a swim in the lake by the mines. Transfer to Torre Sant’Emiliano and Porto Badisco. Before getting to the farmhouse, pay a visit to a local cheese factory. Dinner with local food and wines from Puglia.

Day 3From Porto Badisco to Castro

Head to Santa Cesarea Terme, Torre Minervino, and Torre Specchia la Guardia. If you decide to stop in Cesarea Terme in front of Villa Sticchi, right before getting to Porto Miggiano and its wonderful bay, you will have a chance to go for a swim. From there you will get to Grotta Zinzulusa and Castro with its castle. After reaching the b&b, enjoy an aperitivo on the port of Castro before dinner.

Day 4From Castro to Tiggiano

Some km away from Castro is Seno dell’Acquaviva, that opens up into a beautiful bay. From there, you will walk to Torre Capo Lupo and Torre del Sasso, with its sunny countryside that will lead you to the small harbor of Porto Tricase. Up and down the hills again, you will reach Canal del Rio Tricase and Marina Serra. After a little break in the beautiful sea of Torre Palane, head to Tiggiano through the path in the woods of Tricase. A quick visit to Palazzo Baronale and Sant’Ippazio church. Typical dinner in trattoria.

Day 5From Tiggiano to Mannuta cave

Get ready for a busy day by the coastline. Arrival in Torre Nasparo and the start of the trek through the Salt Paths, “Scalamascu e Funnuvojere” reefs, and “Nsepe” woods continuing along the strait that leads to Torre Specchia Grande. The road goas down the coastline to Marina di Guardiola and Canal del Rio Guardiola and goes nack uphill to Marina di Novaglie. Following the Cipolliane path, you will visit its caves and, after a while, you will get to Ciolo for a swim. The canyons will take you to the Mannuta cave. Dinner in typical local restaurant.

Day 6Mannuta cave

After 75 km trekking, take the day off. The possibilities are nearly endless: if you’re tired, you can relax on one of the beautiful beaches to sunbathe; if you’re the sporty type, there are plenty of options to discover the territory; and if you’re the smart type, you will find plenty of historical sites to learn from. Or you could just sail off on a boat tour and explore the many sea caves! Barbecue dinner or in a typical local restaurant.

Day 7Santa Maria di Leuca

The narrow path that starts from Mannuta cave will lead you to Santa Maria di Leuca, and follows the cliffs overlooking the sea caves.
