Lose yourself in the Indonesian culture, explore new places, and enjoy the island from a height. Local guides will accompany you on this tour on the Bromo and Semeru mountains, allowing you to experience the beauty of the place in a whole new way.
Arrival in Surabaya in the morning. Meeting of the participants. At 10:30 departure for Malang, one of the main cities of the island and then trip to Tumpang. Once in Ranu Pani, the group will leave the jeeps to visit the surroundings and the lake. The tour will be hosted for dinner and overnight stay by a local family.
After breakfast, the day begins with an excursion into the tropical forest, home of Mount Semeru, the highest peak in the east of the island as well as an active volcano. A 3-4 hour trek will take you to the lake of Ranu Kumbolo, a scenic landscape at 2380m, where there will be a stop for lunch. After lunch, in 3 hours of walking you will reach the Kalimati base camp, the highest field on the Semeru volcano. While the group is resting and enjoying the view, the companions will prepare dinner and set up the tents.
Today you will have to wake up pretty early so to reach the summit in time for the sunrise. The camp is 2 h 30 walk from the top of the volcano. At the top of the crater, you will have time to enjoy the unique view, before returning to the camp for breakfast. After that, head to Ranu Pani, passing through the promontory of Ayek-Ayek, which will be reached in the early afternoon. From here you will take the jeep to the village of Cemoro Lawang, where you will spend the night in a hut.
Another day with an early wakeup. The group will leave by jeep to Mount Pananjakan to watch the explosions of the volcano. After the hike, return to the lodges in time for breakfast. Here, the group will have time to relax before heading to the Surabaya airport. Therefore, flights are suggested after 4 pm.
