Who hasn’t dreamed of exploring the beautiful rainforest of South America, escaping for a whole week from day-to-day routine? This multisport tour has been designed for those travelers who wish to visit beautiful Costa Rica and do many adventure activities, but don’t have a lot of vacation time or a large budget. This itinerary combines the excitement of lots of adventure activities with the nature of Costa Rica, lots of sightseeing and a visit to two of the most popular destinations of the country.
This vacation starts by arriving in San Jose and taking the whole day off, so you can start fresh and with lots of energy on the following morning, when the real adventure activities begin.
On day 2 you would pack all your stuff and travel to the Arenal Volcano area, the most popular touristic region of Costa Rica, where you would participate in an intense adventure combo that includes zip lining in the rainforest, a 50 meter rappel line, a white water tubing tour on the Arenal River and a short horseback riding tour at the base of the impressive Arenal Volcano. At the end of all of these adventures, you will reach the Paradise Hot Springs and Gardens, for you to rest and recover at the thermal mineral waters.
After all the adrenaline built up from yesterday, you deserve a day off. Relax in Arenal and recharge for the next days!
On the 4th day of your vacation you would pack your stuff and reach the beautiful beaches of Puerto Viejo de Limon. On the way there you would have a real adrenaline rush by doing white water rafting at the Pacuare River, considered as one of the 5 best rivers in the world for this activity and definitely the best in all Costa Rica. The views while doing this tour are impressive, definitely the best views you would get on any tour in our country. The huge mountains surrounding the river and lush rainforest jungles will add-on to the great experience of this rafting trip. This tour is also very long, because you would be 4 hours approx. on the river; most rafting tours here last about 1.5 to 2 hours at the most. The level of rafting at Pacuare is 3-4, which is the most intense offered in Costa Rica for commercial rafting.
This day is for you to rest from all the excitement of the rafting trip and the transfer done on day 4, as well as for you to enjoy of the beautiful Cocles Beach and the hotel’s amenities.
On the 6th day of your vacation, you will participate in surfing lessons. The beach to do the lessons will depend on the conditions and the time of the year; your instructor will take you to the best spot to learn to surf, which could be “Playa Negra”, “Puerto Viejo” or even Cocles Beach. You would be back at your hotel before noon; leave your luggage at the reception (the hotel’s staff will be happy to store it for you), and then enjoy of the beach on your own until 3 p.m. when your transport is scheduled, that way you can enjoy the beach for a few more hours before going to the City of San Jose. At 3 p.m. your transport will pick you up to take you to the Country Inn & Suites Hotel near the San Jose International Airport.
