Need to take a break from everyday life and want to experience a unique adventure in the mountains? Then this 10-day trekking tour in Canada is perfect for you! You will get to the heart of the Ogilvie Mountains, where the odds of seeing wildlife are much greater than seeing another human being! You will hike through all kinds of terrain for a complete mountain experience at its peak conditions, during the month of August, when the landscapes turn to red making the nearby Tombstone Territorial Park one of the most photographed areas in the Yukon!
After a free morning discovery of the capital of the Yukon, you’ll drive North to Mayo. This small community is right by the Stewart river, which is where the floatplane will take off from. The first night will be spent in Mayo to get an early start the next morning.

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll take off for the real start of the hiking tour! The 30-minute flight will take you through the Yukon plateau before reaching the Ogilvie mountains. For 7 days, you’ll hike across the mountains, where no trail can be found apart from the ones created by the fauna that lives here: bears, moose, caribou, and wolves!
Hiking will last approximately 6h/day with elevation gain ranging from +300m to +800m.

In the afternoon of day 8, after walking for approximately 60 kilometers through the Yukon wilderness, you’ll drive to Dawson city on a shuttle that will be waiting for you a couple kilometers south of the Tombstone Territorial Campground. Once in Dawson, enjoy a hot shower and dive in the Gold Rush atmosphere of the town, that you’ll be able to experience especially at Canada’s oldest casino, Diamond Tooth Gerties.

This morning you’ll drive back to Whitehorse, which you should reach by the mid-afternoon. You can enjoy your evening freely in town.
